Sarah's parents are Solomon and Rachael DAVIS Bolton from SC and TN.
Sarah Married 1st to B.R. Mccullough circa 1860 . A daughter Ellen was born 15 July 1861 in TN.
B.R. McCullough died 15 April 1864 at Camp Douglas in Indianapolis, IN. He was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery. He was a Confederate Soldier.
Sarah Married 2nd to John Franklin Skelton circa 1865 in TN. The Civil War Papers of John's ( #669855) states they were married by J. P. Crane. Justice of the Peace in Chattanooga.
John was born 28 June 1841 in Hendricks Co. In. He died 5 April 1918 in Rome, GA and was buried in the Oakland Cemetery. At the time of his death, he was living with a daughter and her husband, Nellie and Gus Duncan.

The 1870 Census of Batesville, AR shows John Skelton family living in Fairview Twp. The family then moved to Jackson Twp in White County where the last three children were born. The family is shown in the 1880 Census, except for the last two children and Sarah.
Around 1880-1881 Ellen McCullough moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. She had a daughter, Sally who was born 4 Sept 1881. Then Ellen moved back to Hamilton County TN and married John Skelton on 29 January 1882.
To this union four children were born.

John Franklin Skelton was a Union Soldier in the Civil War. He was mustered in at age 19 into Co G 18th Reg't Inf for one year. Four months after his discharge he was mustered into Co E 69th Reg't IN and stayed until he was mustered out on 20 June 1865 with an honorable Discharge. He fought in the Battle of Chicamunga and on missionary Ridge. He was a GAR Member in TN. His Civil War Badge and GAR Badge are in the hands of a Great Grandson by his second wife.. In the 1860 Dearborn Census of IN, it shows John with his mother, Elizabeth and a brother James and sister, Susan.
His father's name is unknown at this time.
I descend from John and Sarah's son Frank, who married Mary Etta Ferguson in White County, AR.
They had a son Raymond who married Minnie Oneida Jay in Caddo County, Oklahoma and they are my parents. Six children were born to this couple. Forrest, Ivelyn, Evelyn, Danny, Thomas and William.
